These are general logic puzzles - not Physics puzzles, but they should be challenging and fun (just like Physics).
If you know what you are looking for in a puzzle or have done a similar one before you may find an easier puzzle harder or a harder one straightforward.

The answer is fourth place, but if you are like me you will have said third place.
Explanation.
Assume the first five runners are A B C D and me
Before I pass the runner in second place I am in third place: [D C me B A <- first]
By overtaking the runner in second place I move from third place to second place, instead of into first place.
[D C B me A <- first]
After that when I am passed by two runners I finish in fourth place.
[B me D C A <- first] or [D me C B A <- first] or other arrangements ...
